Scent 1, 3 week course - Derby

This is your introduction to the wonderful world of Scentwork! In Scent 1, you and your dog will learn the basics of scentwork, introducing your dog to a specific scent and encouraging an active indication - where your dog plays with the scented article or toy, or gets to eat the find if working with a food hide.

You will learn about how scent moves through the environment and how a dog picks it up. You will learn basic handling skills, free searching and blind searches. The day begins with a presentation to help you develop a knowledge and understanding of scentwork, and you will have personalised coaching from our highly experienced and friendly trainer (me). No prior experience of scentwork is required, by either the dog or handler, all are welcome.

The course will run on Friday evenings (7.00pm-9.00pm) for 3 weeks, commencing 30th November 2018.
